Das Schottisch-Serbische-Duo PERMAHORN war eine der Entdeckungen des letzten Jahres für uns. Und ihr Song ‚Into The Dreams (Slut)‘ einer unserer absoluten Lieblingshits des Jahres. Die Mischung aus verstimmten Gitarren und diesem hypnotischen Gesang mit der unfassbar schönen Melodie, Sowas haben zuletzt nur Sonic Youth hingekriegt. Heute feiert der Song bei uns Videopremiere. Die Band hat uns noch verraten, worum es im Song für sie geht:

„The song is about desire and attraction and the blurring of boundaries between fantasy and reality. But there’s a fear at the heart of it; a fear of the unknown, of making the leap. So you get this ongoing, monotonous conflict, a tightrope walk between worlds. We’d toyed with putting together clips from silent movies, but got obsessed with Carnival of Souls. It perfectly echoes that feeling of foreboding in the music – and shows the conflict of alienation and attraction suffered by the main character.

We did our own take on the dancing ghouls from the film and spliced clips from the original with other bits of footage skirting around the edges of darkness and decay – alleys, sewers, antique mirrors, abandoned rooms. We wanted it to be dark and alluring.”
