Mit ‚There’s Been A Death‘ begibt sich Mat Hunsley das erste Mal auf die große musikalische Bühne. Der Singer Songwriter aus Newcastle vermischt dabei gekonnt Alternative Rock der 90er mit sphärischen Folk Klängen der Neuzeit. Das hat durchaus Potential und klingt richtig groß.

„I try not to let my day job influence my writing too much, but ‘There’s Been A Death’ is an exception. It’s a direct reflection of the crisis I witness daily. The NHS feels like it’s on fire, struggling to function in its current state. Part of the problem is that we demand too much of it, and part is that it’s been allowed to crumble through neglect. The song paints a vivid picture of ambulances lined up outside gridlocked A+Es and exhausted staff inside, desperately pleading for their warnings to be heard. The entire system relies on people constantly going above and beyond, but it’s creaking at the seams. Like many others, I’ll keep breaking my back to hold it together, but my goodness, I hope someone starts listening before it’s too late.“ – Matt Hunsley
