Vor einigen Jahren verließ Vyka schweren Herzens ihre Heimat, die Ukraine. In Berlin hat sie zwar ein neues Zuhause gefunden, dennoch denkt sie viel an ihre Heimat, wie sie verrät: „I wrote this song for my friends,“ sagt Vyka über ihre neue Single ‚Homesick‘. „My closest ones are pilgrims like myself, always carrying a part of their past with them. When I visit Ukraine, I feel connected to people, to the land and its vast fields and azure skies where the cotton-like clouds hang so low you think you can touch them. Berlin is my home now, and still, a part of me will always long for my motherland.”
