Für viele von uns ist Julian Casablancas von The Strokes eine Ikone, ein Held und Pionier einer ganzen Generation. Im Slumber Kosmos ist der Name eine ein Art Codewort: “‘Julian Casablancas’ is a song about the pressure of London nightlife,” erklärt die Band. “That sense of feeling totally inadequate in a room of what always seems to be the coolest and hottest people you can possibly imagine. Of course, that’s much too vulnerable to say directly, so instead we just offset it with a stupid joke about The Strokes and their jeans.” Dabei ist ihnen eine richtige 90er Jahre Brit Pop Hymne gelungen.
